Quake
Written sometime around Jan 1st, 1999 by Justin Brock. Category: SongsI come here innocent enough
Come here to fool myself
What would it cost one to lie
With you are shadows turning
I read their message hit the walls
This is what if feels like to fall
Seems it’d be more of a shock
Death is a dance in the dark
Till you hit the floor
I will groan for the lostness I find in your face
I will cry for the spring
Don’t we moan the innocence we misplace
Don’t we ache the nothingness?
Sin crouches silent at the doorway
I stumble blindly.
The stare the dare the lair I see
Innocence dies wheezing on the threshold
Blood crying from the earth
Oh where’s the brother’s keeper of me?
Withering with lazarus
Who rose but fell again to dust
To rise again? Will he rise again
I will groan for the lostness I find in your face
I will cry for the spring
Don’t we moan the innocence we misplace
Don’t we ache the nothingness?
I am quaking
I see it happen
I will put my foot down and earth will shake
Split foundations and tumble in the tremor
All falls down, all falls down, all falls
All falls down, all falls down, all falls
And fingers aimed from the rubble in blame
It was all my fault.
